Tax Reform is back in the spotlight. During the next 18 months the opportunity exists to empower parents by allowing income splitting for tax purposes. Parents Choice is reviewing its plans for 2009 and is seeking expressions of support from regional contacts around the country.

IN Canada we are unable to income split unless we have a handicapped child or are seniors splitting pensions. The desire to have full income splitting as an option is roundly endorsed by many of our polls but still governments are reluctant to make that move. We held a national conference on Parliament hill on the topic Jan 2006 and its website is http://sharingincome.tripod.com
It is a great idea, never forced on anyone but just a good option for those who in fact do spread their income over others than themselves.
